The LandWillow Creek Orchards is a family farm located in central Montgomery County, Worcester Township, Pennsylvania. Our land has been a working farm since 1754 when German Schwenkfelder settler Anna Wagner came to this farm with her three children. Our land has rich agricultural history and has been farmed for grain crops, it was a well-known potato farm throughout the early part of the 20th century, transitioned to a dairy farm, and cropped to field corn prior to our arrival in 2002.
We, Drew and Melissa Smith, live and work on the farm with our daughters. We transitioned our 138 acres of farmland over a three year period to become a USDA Certified Organic farm, effective September of 2004. We take great care of our land using ecologically sound practices, without synthetic chemicals.
We established an orchard in March of 2003 consisting of various tree fruits, and we also grow small fruits, focusing on Organic Strawberries. Our greatest joy is sharing our land with the community – we look forward to seeing you on the farm every Spring for the Strawberry harvest!
Our goal is to produce high-quality, ORGANICALLY grown fruits and vegetables for local consumption. We feel strongly that our farming practices reflect our mission and commitment to the environment:
"We pledge to grow the highest quality Organic fruits and vegetables, while offering our most fresh harvest to the community."
We are supporting members of Pennsylvania Certified Organic ( PCO), a USDA accredited certifying agency; and Pennsylvania Association of Sustainable Agriculture ( PASA), an organization that supports sustainable environmentally sound farms; and Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association ( PVGA) and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
